"Despite listing prices nearly doubling in the National Landing area of northern Virginia, the new condo market has hewed to the narrative seen across the metro area, with prices rising by just 0.4 percent year-over-year in Arlington and Alexandria."

"The Arlington County Board today accepted the first update to historic Lyon Park’s Neighborhood Conservation plan since 1973. The update, spearheaded by the Lyon Park Citizens Association, seeks to address increased non-resident traffic and other challenges through 19 recommendations for improvements."

In the eight months since northern Virginia was selected as a destination for retail juggernaut Amazon's second headquarters, the housing market in Arlington has been on a rollercoaster trajectory. Now, a new report from Bright MLS aims to trace the effects Amazon has presumably had on the market in "National Landing".

"A major redevelopment effort on the western edge of Falls Church now has the greenlight to move ahead, clearing the way for a potentially transformative project for the small city. The Falls Church City Council unanimously signed off last week on zoning changes tied to the Little City Commons, setting the stage for design work to finally begin on the 1.4 million-square-foot mixed-use development."

"Plans to bring a hotel and shopping center to a massive planned community near Dumfries are finally moving ahead, in tandem with an effort to add a new Virginia Railway Express station to the area. The Prince William Board of County Supervisors unanimously approved special use permits tied to new construction at the Potomac Shores development Tuesday, teeing up construction work on close to 3.7 million square feet of commercial space across the 1,920-acre property."

"Aslin Beer Co. has opened its new tasting room at 847 S. Pickett St. in the city's West End neighborhood. The space is 25,000 square feet, which includes 15,000 square feet of production, a large tasting room and private event space. The company also has a to-go distribution facility in Herndon."

"TCR plans to start construction of a 286-unit multifamily building later this year, according to a release. The Class A apartment building will offer a mix of studios, one- and two-bedroom apartments, and two levels of underground parking. Hord Coplan Macht is the project architect and Parker Rodriguez Inc. the landscape architect. The existing garage will be demolished."

"The National Air and Space Museum is keeper of some of America’s most important space artifacts — rockets, spacesuits, a touchable moon rock, the space shuttle Discovery — which makes it a natural focus for the area’s biggest celebrations. There are numerous free events and special exhibits at the main museum and the Udvar-Hazy Center in Chantilly, but there are plenty of other happenings around the region, too."
